What is Electrification?
Swapping the integral power banks or natural gas fired prime driver of a compression system with an electric motor. Why? Better performance and no emissions, though there are other reasons. It’s a procedure that offers a number of quantifiable economic benefits, and also goes a long way toward bringing a station into compliance with state and regulatory guidelines.
More specifically, this conversion involves modification of around a dozen aspects of the unit, including modification of the crank shaft, creation of an electric motor pad, review of the torsional and more.
The process began in earnest in the early 1980s for Californian integral and reciprocating compression and is today a widely accepted way to improve economic and environmental performance.
Enerven-Wesco has conducted a number of electrification projects
across the Mid-Continent with a wide range of integral and
separable horsepower equipment. Learn more about why you should
electrify and how it works. Contact an Enerven-Wesco technician
